Founded in 2020 by LA Chamber Orchestra Principal Oboist Claire Brazeau as a response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Virtual Oboe Competition (VOC) strives to support and amplify young and emerging oboists by providing high-level online resources and opportunities to young musicians across the globe. Through partnerships with the world’s leading music institutions and the internationally-renowned musicians and pedagogues who form VOC’s distinguished jury panel, we aim to offer opportunities to future generations of talented oboists, while building community through music.
OUR TWO VOC COMPETITON CATEGORIES:
GEN Z - Oboists who will be 22 years old and younger as of August 1, 2020
Cash prizes for VOC's GEN Z category are generously provided by RDG Woodwinds.
GEN Y - Oboists who will be 23-34 years old as of August 1, 2020
